This distant relative to the ladybird(ladybug) is devouring this leaf. This one, unlike it's distant cousin is vegetarian. As he's in cihna and lives next to a lovely temple, I can only presume he's Buddhist.

i was checking out an old graveyard, and this old one room school house was next to it. i never noticed it there before. it was locked up tight, and the windows were too high to look in, but i was able to reach it with my camera and get a couple of shots.

i'm sorry if i haven't visited as many of you as i'd like, had a few really long days lately.
we spent a day in portland and peaks island. here's a view of portland from casco bay, riding the ferry to the island. you can see the portland observatory on top of the hill. it was used to watch for ships coming into port, so people could get ready to unload a ship when it docks.

i apologise for this not being perfect, but it's a little tough to get a close up using a telephoto wioth one hand!! I'm going to get a macro lens soon! I was so excited when this beautiful little thing flew into my hands, literally! Hope you like it!
This must have been a new born butterfly as it had no idea what was going on and it's tongue is out. Although any butterfly expert can tell me otherwise....!
